Parkour in Pankow is an initiative to create a completely new city map of Pankow, designed by its inhabitants. A city map that shows and visualizes what was, is and will be important to all of us. Through collective cartography, we rethink the use of urban space – from an intersectional and decolonial perspective.
TOUR 2024: Voices in public space.
Building on the experiences of ‘MEHR SPRACH ICH’, we are continuing the redesign and revitalisation of public space in the north of Pankow through workshops, interventions and events.
You will find various formats here, such as Multiplier:innen Lab (FLINTA), AUDIOTHEKA workshops (sound map of Berlin), the AUDIOTHEKA MOBIL installation, awareness workshops for cultural events, project week, OPEN SESSIONS (screen printing, dance and participatory performances) and performances on the bicycle stage.
Parkour in Pankow is a project by MESTIZX, a collective of artists from different backgrounds based in Berlin. We work with the richness of narratives and cultural capital resulting from the encounter of many identities. Our creations are a fusion of traditions, aesthetics and experiences that deconstruct hegemonic culture exploring new perspectives and visions. In this way, Mestizx promotes the generation of a richer and more diverse cultural heritage of the future.
